However, banking remained a notable exception, with human intervention still required for even the simplest financial transactions.
Meow Technologies, a San Francisco-based fintech founded in 2021, has addressed this gap by introducing what it calls the first agentic banking platform. This allows users to instruct an AI agent in natural language to open a business checking account, manage corporate cards, send and receive payments, invoice others, and handle other day-to-day financial tasks—all without human involvement.
A Competitive Moment for Agentic Finance
The Meow announcement comes at a pivotal time. Zendesk recently acquired the self-improving agentic AI platform Forethought, hinting at expectations that 2026 will be the year AI agents handle more enterprise operations than humans. Canva, meanwhile, has purchased Simtheory, an agentic AI platform for marketing and design workflows.
Meow Technologies argues that financial operations should be included in this shift towards automation, and that its infrastructure now makes this possible.
How the Platform Works
Users connecting a supported AI tool (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Gemini) to Meow’s platform issue a single natural language prompt like “open a business account for my new project.” The platform then guides the agent through the entire process—from account setup to configuring settings and preparing it for use. Once an account is open, agents can perform tasks such as issuing corporate cards, executing transfers, accessing balance and transaction data, and handling invoicing.
